Our Book
This book, produced by the Lincoln Park Preservation Alliance and showcasing over 200 rare photographs from the Lincoln Park Historical Museum, chronicles the transformation of a quiet agricultural area known as Quandt's Corners into a thriving village and commercial center. It highlights the significant role played by Henry Ford's pioneering "five dollars a day" initiative at the nearby Ford Rouge plant in fueling the community's growth. Through captivating vintage images, the book portrays the rich history and vibrant daily life of Lincoln Park, capturing its schools, churches, businesses, and diverse organizations. It also celebrates the community's 20th-century identity as a cultural melting pot, shaped by the contributions of Italian, Hungarian, Greek, Slovakian, and Mexican immigrants.
